Technical overview

Peristaltic Metering — Tube Failure Detection (TFD+)

The A-100N is a peristaltic metering pump that is self-priming even against maximum line pressure, cannot vapor lock or lose prime, and has no valves that can clog; its output volume is not affected by changes in back pressure. A variable-speed DC motor provides up to 20:1 turndown (model-dependent), and the patented Tube Failure Detection (TFD+) sensor senses tube failure and signals it through an alarm output. Tube choice sets the pressure rating and output range.

Tube selection — maximum output across 14–60 RPM models (A-100NF / A-100NV)

Tube 1 — 1/4″ OD Flex-A-Thane®

Best for

Metering gaseous chemicals, shear-sensitive fluids and viscous slurriesDosing duties up to 5,000 cP viscosity and 50% solids by volumeDosing paced by an external signal — A-100NV with 4–20 mA, 0–10 VDC or pulse/frequency inputNSF/ANSI 61 water-contact installations — only models ordered with option X (tubes 4, 6, 7, 8)

Key product advantages

  • Patented TFD+ tube-failure detection senses tube failure and activates an alarm output
  • Self-priming even against maximum line pressure — cannot vapor lock or lose prime
  • No valves that can clog; output volume is not affected by changes in back pressure
  • Gentle, nearly pulsation-free pumping action
  • Handles up to 5,000 cP viscosity and 50% solids by volume
  • Up to 20:1 turndown (5–100% motor speed) on 14 and 30 RPM models with tube 1, 2 or 4
